The limited-edition cereals – Kellogg’s Froot Loops, Kellogg’s Chocolate Frosted Flakes and Kellogg’s Apple Jacks – are each transformed for Halloween with marshmallow-shaped monsters, ghosts and bats that intermingle with the breakfast cereals. This July, the Addams Family is joining the breakfast table and beyond with “The Addams Family 2”-inspired cereals and snacks and in-pack giveaways of the first animated Addams Family movie. is teaming up with the studio to bring fans a new way to experience their favorite macabre clan: breakfast. The supporting cast is equally boldfaced: Snoop Dogg as hairy Cousin Itt (although his voice is unrecognizable) Alison Janney as scheming Margaux Needler, a reality-TV host and troublemaking snoop Elsie Fisher as her rebellious daughter Parker, pal to Wednesday and Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara as Grandpa and Grandma Frump, the deceased-but-not-silent parents of Morticia.Ahead of the theatrical release of MGM’s animated sequel “The Addams Family 2” on Oct. The main Addams clan are voiced by Charlize Theron as sultry and skeletal Morticia, Oscar Isaac as devoted Gomez, Chloë Grace Moretz as furious Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as curious Pugsley, Nick Kroll as pervy Uncle Fester, Conrad Vernon as trusty Lurch and Bette Midler as meddling Grandmama. It rounds up the usual social rejects while adding risky elements of raunch - such as The Thing looking at “hand porn” and Uncle Fester making a Viagra allusion to young Pugsley. What we get instead is a second-rate effort by “ Sausage Party” co-directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. The film was originally intended as a Tim Burton project, which would have been something to see. Not, at least, in the animated “The Addams Family,” the latest incarnation of the freak show franchise spawned in 1964, when The New Yorker cartoons of Charles Addams met the pop-cult campiness of 1960s TV. They just aren’t much of a scream any more. The members of family Addams are still creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky and altogether ooky. Directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon.
